In Moscow, Delovaya Rossiya met with a delegation from Zimbabwe, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic, Amon Murwira. The parties discussed investment opportunities and cooperation between the two countries.
The President of Delovaya Rossiya, Pavel Titov, reported that the business organization continues to develop its work with Zimbabwe. Just last week, a webinar was held by Delovaya Rossiya and the Agency for the Development and Promotion of Trade, Zimtrade, where the entry of domestic entrepreneurs into the republic's market was discussed.
"We consider it important to create a convenient platform for dialogue between the businesses of our countries, to expand the presence of the non-resource sector in our trade and economic relations. "Delovaya Rossiya" and ZimTrade can act as initiators of such a platform and develop its roadmap. We see great potential in organizing an investment business mission to assess the prospects for investment in the Zimbabwean economy," said Pavel Titov.
According to Murwira, it is important to strengthen economic ties between the two countries. Bilateral contacts open up huge opportunities for Moscow and Harare, which must be used for sustainable economic growth, he stressed.
"Zimbabwe has strong trade relations with BRICS members, exporting agricultural products and minerals. Russia, as a key player in BRICS, is a large market that is in line with Zimbabwe's export growth strategy. We will cooperate with Russia in the aerospace and aviation sectors. We also invite Russian companies to explore investment opportunities in mining, energy, agro-processing and infrastructure development through public-private partnerships," the minister said.
ZimTrade Chief Executive Officer Allan Majuru noted that the meeting reflects Russia and Zimbabwe's commitment to building mutually beneficial economic relations.
Representatives of the Russian authorities and business also spoke at the meeting. Member of the General Council of Delovaya Rossiya Grigory Aksamentov said that his company Zakuptekh is creating a platform with Russian goods for further sale to African countries. He emphasized that the company is ready for closer cooperation with Zimbabwe in importing local products to Russia.
Deputy Director of the Department for Development of Bilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Economic Development Renat Agliullin told the delegation members about the prospects for cooperation between Russia and Zimbabwe, for example, in the sphere of energy, agriculture, and geological exploration. Head of the Department for Work with Countries of the Greater Middle East and Africa of the Russian Export Center Israfil Ali-Zadeh announced the center's readiness to establish interaction between Russian exporters and Zimbabwean companies.
Director of the Africa and Middle East department of KAMAZ Kirill Cherniltsev presented the company's capabilities for deliveries of its products and logistics operations in Zimbabwe. Leading specialist of the engineering company "Lorett" Maria Dobrynina spoke about innovative equipment and technologies for receiving data from Earth remote sensing satellites.
Following the meeting, Delovaya Rossiya and ZimTrade signed a memorandum of cooperation. The document was signed by Delovaya Rossiya President Pavel Titov and ZimTrade CEO Allan Majuru. The parties agreed to establish contacts between business organizations in Russia and Zimbabwe for the economic growth of both countries. Other agreements included the development of scientific and technological ties, support for trade and investment, and the organization of joint events and business missions.© Copyright by Zimbabwe Embassy in Russia.
